We would love for you to join us to celebrate our marriage
How do I get to Port Douglas?
Cairns Airport (CNS) has daily flights from major Australian cities. From there you'll need a car or private transfer to reach Port Douglas—rental cars from all major companies are available at the airport, or you can book a shuttle or private transfer in advance for a direct ride. The drive from Cairns to Port Douglas is about 50 minutes and is one of the most scenic routes in the country.
Where should we stay?
Plenty of options in Port Douglas. Staying on or near Macrossan Street lets you walk to most restaurants and shops. Jacob and Matthew are staying at the Pullman Sea Temple at the southern end of town; regular shuttle services run into the main area if you too prefer to stay farther out.
What is September like in Far North Queensland?
September in Far North Queensland is warm and sunny—daytime highs in the high 20s to low 30s°C, pleasant evenings, and typically southeast breezes with a low chance of rain.
Is the celebration an outdoor affair?
Yes. We will be celebrating outside on the heritage listed Sugar Wharf. If inclement weather sets in, remember, we are gay guys - we always have a back up plan.
Are children invited?
We love your little ones, but our celebration is adults-only. We’ve made exceptions for our nieces and nephews—if you have questions or need help arranging care nearby, please get in touch.
What time should I arrive?
We request guests arrive at Sugar Wharf from 4:30PM. No arrivals later than 4:45PM please. If you are looking to kill some time before the celebration, the Court House Hotel is across the road.
Will my dietary requirements be catered for?
Please let us know when you RSVP of any dietary requirements and we will inform our caterer.
What do I give as a gift?
We request only your presence—your company is the best gift.
Is there transport post celebration?
Yes. Port Douglas runs a shuttle bus from Macrossan Street to most resorts and hotels in the area.
